Know Jesus?
Do you know Jesus as your personal savior?
What do you have to do?
- The Bible shows us that God loves all men and women and desires to be in relationship with them. But we separated ourselves from God. "God is on one side and all the people on the other side..." (1 Timothy 2:5)
- We have sinned against God. "Your sins have cut you off from God." (Isaiah 59:2) and "Yes, all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious ideal."(Romans 3:23)
- This separation from God leads to death and judgement. "...it is destined that man die only once, and after that comes judgement." (Hebrews 9:27) and "Bringing judgement on those who do not wish to know God...will be punished in everlasting hell..." (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9)
BUT, God has provided the solution...
- Jeus Christ, who died on the cross in our stead as payment for our sins, re-established the way to God. "God is on one side and all the people on the other side, and Christ Jesus, Himself man, is between them to bring them together, by giving His life for all mankind..." (1 Timothy 2:5-6) and "Christ died once for the sins of all us guilt sinners... that He might bring us safely home to God." (1 Peter 3:18)
- Does this include everyone? Everyone who personally receives Jesus Christ into their lives, trusting Him to forgive their sins, thus crossing this bridge. "But to all who receive Him, He gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12) and
"But God loved us so much that He gave us His only Son so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
- So, what must I do to be saved? "For if you tell others with your own mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord, and believe in your own
heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)
[Scripture quotation taken from the paraphrase The Living New Testament.]
If you do not know Him as your personal Savior, take this opportunity now. Below is a prayer to help you express your heart to God --
"Father, thank you for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die in my place. I know that You love me and want a relationship with me. I turn away from my sinful past and ask You to come into my heart. I now declare you Lord of my life. Work in me
from this time on. In Jesus' name, Amen."
